justification
had to write this somewhere to avoid spamming my cousin with a strand of "the thing is" text messages. figured maybe others might appreciate it too.
so i made a harness; had a bunch of initial motivations since discarded and plenty that persist, but it is definitely an LLM harness. it is designed to be a very knowledge-filled tireless & totally free as in beer sounding board, brainstorming buddy, and source of organizational assistance for writers.
because it is primarily intended to help draw human writing out of writers who don't entirely know what or how they want to write, i actually imagine it will make just about any task it is good for HARDER than it would be "normally."
because to make it useful, you will have to figure out and then transcribe the way your brain and words work, or worse, how you WISH they would. i promise: it is way easier to program a chatbot to help you make structure for and progress on your writing than it seems. and it's potentially a lot more comfortable than most human collaborators could ever be for deeply personal writing, i.e. writing a memoir.
however, it is hard to explain that it's an LLM thing for writers that is explicitly NOT about having an LLM do your writing for you. i actually sort of think it will be impossible to convey this at all in the near term; because of how often people are currenty being suckered into "saving time" by generating LLM prose in 2026, it just seems insane to offer something LLM-powered that is opposed to it.
but that's what my harness is. it wouldn't stop you from using it to generate prose (or poetry, yuck) for you. but everything about how it is oriented is towards the opposite of that: you use it to plan, structure, and refine YOUR personal writing. not to generate and publish more LLM text.
landing page such as it is is here, if you're interested.
